Our Mission
UKFurMeets (UKFM) is an ongoing project aiming to collate Furmeets and furry events across the UK and Ireland into an easy to use and understand website. We aim to make finding and connecting with your local furmeet easy and intuitive. We want to connect you with your local slice of the fandom and keep the in person side of the community growing, bringing together new and old friends. Our end goal is for admins and staff of events to add and maintain their events on the site but currently this is being managed by a small team of volunteers.
Our Story
Founded by passionate members of the fandom, after a discussion in a local furmeet group we came to realise that knowing when and where events were could be a challenge, especially for members of the fandom who aren’t fully in the loop or may not even realise there could be a community for them right on their door stop. And thus UKFM was born, what began as a simple calendar has quickly evolved into a dedicated website with a growing team of volunteers dedicated to maintaining an up to date database of the UK and Ireland’s varied meets.
